Practical info

Travel

A number of flights connect Kraków Airport to many international destinations. From the airport you can reach the Kraków Old Town, where most of the hotels and the conference venue are situated, by:

• Train (recommended): a one-way ticket to Kraków Main Train Station costs 9 PLN (~2 EUR), tickets can be purchased at the passenger terminal - level 0 (ticket machine), train station (ticket machine), train (ticket machine or train conductor on board), payment is possible in cash or with credit/debit card.
• Taxi: a convenient way is to use the Kraków Airport Taxi - the official partner of the airport, the fare for a ride from the airport to the Old Town is about 100 PLN (~25 EUR).
• Bus: use #208, #252 or #902 to the Old Town, a one-way ticket costs 4 PLN (~1 EUR).

Visa

For some non-EU citizens an entry Polish visa is required. In that case, please, ask the organizers for the official invitation letter to participate in IS2017. After receiving the official invitation letter please contact the nearest Polish Consulate.

Health insurance

All the participants should arrange themselves their health insurance for the stay in Poland during the conference.

Accommodation

The participants should arrange accommodation in Kraków on their own. There is a great number of hotels and apartment hotels in Kraków (in particular, in the Old Town) which offer different standard, from average to highest. Since Kraków has become a big tourist attraction in the last years, it is highly recommended that one makes a hotel reservation as soon as possible.
